Why It's Much Better to Say No to Things

I don't like making new year's resolutions, because to do such a thing would be to set yourself up for failure, guaranteed.

In 2015, however, I've been inadvertently doing something for myself that, as it turns out, has been working a treat. Saying no to people and to things.

I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm a people pleaser, but I often agreed to things just because I felt bad or didn't know a good way to get myself out of a situation. In the past three to four weeks, however, I succeeded in the following:

Shutting shit down with men
'This is probably not what you want to hear but I don't see this working out.'

Not hanging out with fraud ass bitches
'I'm not going to be able to make it to this thing because I really don't like you.'

Admitting that something doesn't interest you
'I don't know how many different ways I can say this, but I am not going to go to this beauty salon that you keep asking me to go to and pay for a facial that I do not want to be getting. Please stop calling me about it, it's been five months now.'

Getting out of boring commitments
'Mum, I don't make you come to dinners with my bitches and make you listen to us gossip about who is sleeping with whom and which hoes we hate. I don't want to go to your dinner parties. Sorry.'
